amy.taylor8414 6 Posted June 28, 2015 I'm trying to get into the swing of things before having my surgery, which if course includes working out. I joined a gym and met with a personal trainer who emphasized strength training, but I also hear that cardio is more important. I seem to be getting conflicting information and I just don't know where to start. Especially with strength training, I can't afford the personal trainer and I don't want to get hurt. Suggestions? sandylyn88 10 Posted June 28, 2015 Hello again amy! I see an exercise specialist once a month and she told me to start by walking 20 mind a day.. work up to 30 mins by the next month.. add 10 more mins a month till walking an hour.. and throw in any workout dvd when I feel up to it. She wants me to push myself but not to the point I don't want to work out the next day
