latido 178 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) I lost 90 lbs total by the time I was 6 months post-op. I haven't lost an ounce since then. I just celebrated my first year and am doing everything right. I was called the model patient for so many reasons, but the numbers are not budging. I am a super-disciplined person, I eat very slowly, have no emotional relationship with food, and cook everything myself. I am really at a loss. I moved away from my doctor's office after 7 months, and lost all support. No dietitian, no post-op appointments, no blood-work, nothing. Mostly, I mourn the feedback. As my pouch adjusted, I have been able to easily get an entire yogurt down without much effort. I have started adding 5 cherries to my Breakfast yogurts... I am obsessing over my food intake, worrying if I am eating too much (no weight loss) or too little (body in starvation mode). I have no way of knowing unless I get real answers from real professionals. I am tired of researching and doctoring myself. I am tired of putting together advice from people who have been through it. I really need to shake up my system. I feel like I'm losing time, and that I have only 6 more months to lose weight for real. I am 30 lbs from my goal, and have no hope. I'm not sure if I'm looking for more advice right now. I just need some feedback from long timers. I think I want to hear about people who lost weight way after their surgery. Maybe I'll be able to stop pressuring myself to catch only this train before it leaves the station. Edited June 28, 2015 by latido
rosemary79 136 Posted June 28, 2015 Latido could you reach out to your old surgeon's office and ask if there is a clinic or doctor in your area that they would recommend. At the very least make an appointment with your PCP to run some blood tests to make sure you don't have any deficiencies.
nieuwevis 294 Posted July 2, 2015 I'm not a vet, but i did notice you said nothing of exercise. I've read others say changing the exercise routine can kickstart a stall.
latido 178 Posted July 2, 2015 I worked with a personal trainer for three months but I did not lose anything on the scale (but lost inches). I had since downgraded my workout because my asthma got worse. Now I just walk for thirty minutes every day, including a six minute interval training routine
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted July 2, 2015 You don't mention Protein. Are you still getting in all your protein and Water every day?
latido 178 Posted July 2, 2015 I increased to two Protein drinks for two weeks, but then went back to one. I have always gotten at least 60 grams daily. I drink 50-70 ounces of Water a day. I really am a 'model' patient except for the weight loss stall.
mskami77 295 Posted July 15, 2015 I'm not a model patient. I started out the first year doing everything by the book. I lost 136 pounds. We relocated and I lost all support. I have 30 pounds to go and I just haven't been able to get it off. My body responded so much better when I had support all around me. I tried to attend an OA meeting just to meet people and it sucked! Nice people but not for me. I just logged back on this site hoping to find some support and motivation. Maybe we can encourage each other.

Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted July 15, 2015 I see no reason to give up hope. You have already successfully lost a great deal of weight and have the tools to succeed. It's just sounds like you need some patience and perseverance. If I were you I would: increase my Protein and Water, make an appointment with my PCP and check my labs. I would also make an appointment with a NUT. Preferably one who works with WLS patients since I presume you aren't near your previous NUT. I would also recommend finding some exercise you can do regularly regardless of whether or not you think it influences the scale.
mskami77 295 Posted July 16, 2015 Let's just curl up and cry, shall we? No tears! We got this! Its frustrating! 30 pounds to goal when I never thought I'd get under 200 pounds. Let's count our successes and work towards shaking these pounds. Do you think your body has reached its comfort zone? Have you tried shaking things up a bit by increasing your healthy carbs? latido 178 Posted July 16, 2015 I've added fruits, but then people told me "No more than 30 carbs per day" and that it was too much. Too much misinformation and little support is driving me bonkers. I'm not accepting that my body is hovering around 175, as I am only 5.4 in height.
