Tomojac 22 Posted June 28, 2015 Has anyone found they needed to change jobs after WLS? I am 2.5 weeks post-op and returned to work Friday. I am asst manager at a convenient store which also has pizza and subs. I feel I'm going to have a hard time staying away from the food once I am back to full diet. The smells the past 2 days has been difficult. I'm thinking if I'm going to be successful in this journey I need less temptation. I love my job and the people I work with. But this journey is more important.
Daisee68 2,493 Posted June 29, 2015 I just went back to work this last week too and while I don't work around food, I did find it a little difficult eating in the lunchroom watching everyone else. But it did get easier throughout the week. Give it some time and see if you can avoid those foods. (You can't physically eat them right now anyway without damaging your stomach.) Hopefully by the time you can move to real foods, you will be satisfied enough that those foods won't bother you any longer. But you are right, this journey is the most important. If you have too much temptation, you may have to look for something else. Meanwhile trust your "tool" and work the program.
starbuckscoffeegal 36 Posted July 27, 2015 I would probably switch jobs by that's just me. I can't imagine being around food that much. I would just get sick from the smell. Good luck!
