I'm from Northern Ontario and had my sleeve surgery on June 12th at Toronto Western Hospital...it's been an exciting journey so far.

Thanks, I am one of the very fortunate people as I have felt amazing since I woke up from my surgery. Not a moment of nausea or vomiting and I was able to drink as soon as I was out of recovery. My gas pains were manageable but I personally found walking and gas-x strips to wok like a charm. Because I went through the Ontario Bariatric Network, all my follow-ups are in Sudbury,ON which is only 1 hour away from where I live. I am down about 25lbs over the last 4 weeks and dealing well with the diet. What an amazing ride so far,. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Good Luck this week!!

Hi:

I reside in Sudbury. I had a lapband put it in 2006 and then removed in 2014. Went to the Orientation session held yesterday at the old Memorial site. I would like the Sleeve but not sure what they will give me.

Just looking for thoughts and and experiences about the sleeve and how you are doing. Any input would be appreciated.

Thx

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
