KeepOnRockinMe 6 Posted June 29, 2015 My doc told me that I could have anything I could suck through a straw (but don't use a straw). Like blended Soup and whatnot. Is that not what everyone else is doing? I had surgery on the 24th
rnsamantha 352 Posted June 29, 2015 I was sleeved on the 25th. The first couple of days I was really sore and slept a lot. Today I am taking Tylenol only and feeling better. I am still struggling with liquids. So far I've got 40 oz Water down today and am working on my 3rd Protein Shake. I'm trying to get 60 oz water down before the end of today! I haven't had too much trouble getting water in, but it has to be room temp and in a cup. If I drink it out of a bottle I get too much air.
greenbaymichk 30 Posted June 29, 2015 What a bunch of rockstars!!! Great reports on eating/drinking and exercise. I am still sore - taking extra extra strength tylenol morning and evening. Walking twice a day (one mile this morning.) Fluids are usually about 56 oz with 44-48 gm Protein. My surgeon has me follow a pureed diet and it simply is not appealing. PChayy05 75 Posted June 29, 2015 I agree! It sounds like everyone is doing tremendous. I have to say that I was antisipatinf a lot more paina and nausea, but i havent had nausea except once right out of the hospital and pain is down to a two now. Im feeling dehydrated, im really trying to get liquids in, especially since it's not painful anymore, but i just feel stuffed. I have one concern, hoping someone can help me out here: Since I got home from surgery, the outrr sides of both thighs have been numb, especially when I lay down. I constantly have to shake my legs and get up to walk, but even so, i have a lot of numbness and tingling feelings on both outer thighs. No burning, pain, or itchiness like I've read about online, just numb. Pinched nerve? Could this be effects of anesthesia still 4 days later? Any advice or thoughts is helpful. I'm also seeing my doc for my first week appointment so i'll bring it up. Take care guys!
wascott 395 Posted June 29, 2015 @@PChayy05 I've noticed that my butt gets tired of sitting since I've lost some weight. I wonder if your numbness could be caused by that. It might be a good idea to run it my your surgeon though.

TexasGirl86 37 Posted June 29, 2015 Hi guys, I was sleeved on June 25th, I'm doing alright. Today is my first day off of Clear Liquids ( should be 5 weeks of full liquids, follower by soft foods). Pain isn't bad- but the outside part of my right thigh is numb, and my left calf muscle is cramping up a lot. I'm trying my best to drink my Protein shake and enough Water, but I really do want to eat something savory. Like a spoonful of hummus, even sour cream! Anyone else bored out of their minds? It's mostly asleep and then I wake up from a pretty bad pinching pain. I called my surgeon and he said it's related to the procedure- and SHOULD go back to normal in a few weeks. He said it's not anything like a blood clot God forbid. Edited June 29, 2015 by TexasGirl86
PChayy05 75 Posted June 30, 2015 @@TexasGirl86 that's good to know. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow so I'll get a clear answer but my entire right right leg is really really numb and there's a burning sensation. I just went walking for 30min and it seems like it got worse! Here's hoping everything is fine.
xxjosettexx 72 Posted June 30, 2015 As far as your pain goes, it will get better!! I was sleeved the 23rd and I'm feeling good. My pain is basically gone except for where the muscle was stitched under the skin. I can barely get my Protein in though, and anything that has dairy or is creamy/rich is giving me nausea, which means my Protein Shakes lol. This phase is so hard for me only because of the nausea. But then again I've always been sensitive to dairy food (stupid whey protein). I can't wait for soft foods in a couple weeks!
