No feeling of restriction at 2 months

Recommended Posts

I'm 2 months out and noticed that I am able to eat a lot more food without a feeling of restriction ????. I almost feel like I'm able to eat a regular size meal versus 2-3 bites then feeling full.

Oh I'm so pleased I'm not the only one, I keep telling people I don't think they actually did the surgery, just stuck me with knives so it looks like the did lol

My surgery was on the 14th of May, my dietician said that it's good I don't feel restrictions or any pain etc because I'm obviously not pushing it, so I will listen to what she says but sometimes I would like a little side effect just so I know it's doing its job

I'm 5 days out and I'm amazed how much liquid I can drink at this point. It makes me wonder how much food I'll be able to eat.

I went from consistently feeling full at 2-3 bites to finishing a whole normal size plate of food and drinking a lot more Water. I know that after a few weeks of being sleeved, I was depressed and regretted my surgery. I even prayed to God to stretch my stomach because I was so uncomfortable. It feels like he answered that prayer ???? because I feel slightly like my old self, lol. I'm going to call my surgeon on Monday because something is off.

@@BusyLizzy I'm back home and feeling great. The trip home was miserable because my last flight was delayed and we ended up driving instead. Didn't get to bed until 3am.

That sucks about your flight but great news on your speedy recovery????????????

Did the OCC provide you with compression socks?

Did they give you meds for nausea/vomiting?

@@BusyLizzy They provided compression socks while I was at the OCC. Anti-nausea medication was included in the medications that I left with. I also got a second one when I was there fkr my leak test just in case. I didn't need it though.

@@BusyLizzy it was barium. I don't remember if it had any flavor. You don't have to drink very much. (One swallow) They watch it go down on a live xray. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

I read that hunger should be reduced. I have felt hungry. Nothing too bad though. I've been on liquids for so long that I'm really looking forward to eating solid food again. I will continue to follow the rules in the mean time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
