You should say the truth just as you have stated here. If you honestly feel you have made the changes necessary since your previous attempt, then tell them so. Tell them what you have done in the interim that better prepares you for the sleeve now. This surgery isn't magic. It's not going to be successful if you can't put in the work both physically and mentally so there's no point in lying and having surgery when you aren't ready.

Does your current insurance require a psych eval? Or the program you are enrolled in?

If either of them do, then a visit with a mental health professional should clear that all up.

I'd be honest with them though if they ask you about it. Describe what changes you have made.

Hope things go smoothly for you!

Yes, it does require. In interviews i was very open regarding how my life was stressfull and how i managed to change things (and me) but i did not mentioned the other attempt Some years ago because was afraid to complicatie my case... Feel bad . Guess only thing to do is be open ... Thank you for wise advise.

^5 Yes, be honest. If you're worried, go get your own evaluation.

Perhaps your primary doctor would be willing to explain why she included it and perhaps why she now feels you're ready? Sometimes your regular Dr. knows more about you than someone new.

It will get better.
