Decided to rent clothes for the time being

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone. I was sleeved on 6/9/15 and have no idea how fast the weight will come off. With several wedding coming up in August, and professional wardrobe required in the fall, I decided to rent clothing for the time being. There are several companies, but I'm going to try Gwynnie Bee, since they offer the first month free. I figure it's cheaper than buying a new outfit every month, and they have free shipping. Anyone else going this route? I'll give you a review after I've had a chance to try it for a few months.

Continued success, everyone!

I haven't tried it but I've been interested in this service as well. Would be interested in hearing about your experience once you've tried it! Seems much better than buying something you will.shrink out of before wearing it again!

That's what I thought, too. I'll let you know what I think once I get started a bit. It's a new way of looking at clothing, to be sure!

Here in Arizona we have some wonderful consignment shops. I take my better (too big) clothes in and buy at a tiny fraction of the cost. This way my wardrobe is always changing along with me and I don't spend too much money. I think Gwynnie Bee certainly has some ver cute things! It would certainly be a time saver!

Consignment shops and goodwill saved my butt as it was shrinking. Amazed at high end barely worn stuff I would find at both!

Curious as to other rental options. GB doesn't go lower than a size 10. Anyone know of any that do?

Goodwill and thrift stores are my best friend as I loose. This way I'll save money to buy a wardrobe at goal. Much if it is close to brand new. No one knows where I shop

I did GB for a LONG time to balance the loss. Now, I buy from Modcloth and resell on a Facebook page when the items are too big. I like Modcloth because the resale value is almost the original price

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
