RNY 6-10-15. SW 266. Cw 228. Down 38. I too am having trouble with non-pureed meat. Just can't handle more than an ounce or so at a meal. I like my Peanut Butter on graham crackers. I still struggle with getting enough Protein and fluids. Some days are better than others. I'll have a Protein Shake or sf hot cocoa with protein powder at night if I'm really short for the day.

Hey everyone on this post. Looks like most of us in this post had their surgery in June! Congrats everyone. Mine was the 29th. I'm feeling frustrated. Im still measuring out my foods, not cheating at all, exercise 5 days a week. 45 min treadmill and 15 on bike. 2 of those days add some weights. But that scale is so slow moving. I started 272 and only down to 255. 22 lbs. Everyone says "watch the weight fall off". Sick of it! Its not falling off! I ts seems so hard. Almost just like every other attempt. Except I can't overeat. Any words of advise from those of you its falling off of! I sure could use it!!!

I'm with you! I'm getting a bit discouraged. My scale said 2 lbs higher than last week's weigh in. I know we fluctuate through the week, it's just frustrating don't get me wrong, I see a difference from a couple months ago, but I thought it would be a little faster... eating really good, working out alot, I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(

Hey there. Whenever I have dieted in the past and get on a plateau I eat something a little carby (don't judge) to throw my body back into diet mode. Don't get me wrong, no sugar or anything but maybe a potato or something. Or go back to Protein Shakes for a day. Just a thought.

I really hate to say this but I only eservice twice a week but I'm pretty active at work 5 days a week. Maybe with all the exercise you are gaining some muscle which weights more. Have you tried measuring to see if u are losing inches? I haven't but all my clothes are getting too big. I did have a bit of a stall about 4-5 weeks out. Just my two cents :-)

The main thing that helped me get over my plateaus is Protein. I have a strict exercise schedule of 3 days a week for 2 hrs at the gym. You don't want to over-due it. Let your body have time to recover.

I had surgery almost 10 months ago, October 14, 2014. I hit my goal weight this weekend August 1,2015 (darn ticker won't update)

As far as exercise, I have always just walked. Once I could walk more I did. then after I was much closer to goal I started running. I put most my focus on diet and the weight just came off. Protein first ALWAYS, and keep up on hydration. Once the eating and hydration is good, bump up the exercise but don't go too crazy, you will have plenty of time for that ;-)

This is an encouraging thread. Loss is slower than I thought also. About 25 pounds since surgery June 16, 15. Never gone over 700 cal, or 75 carbs. I do need to step up the exercise though.

Thanks everybody.

I had surgery on 3/12/15. Went from a size 30 to a size 24. Down 80 pounds so far. Had lots of complications but I don't regret surgery. It's changed my life!

what kind of complications did you have?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
