Altered Sleep Schedule

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 6/11. Before surgery I was always a night owl, going to bed around midnight or later. Since surgery I am turning out the lights around 10. I figure my body isn't getting the energy/nutrition it was used to so it wants to rest sooner?

I actually kind of like it, feel like I can embrace a longer day.

Anyone else notice significant changes to their sleeping pattern?

I get off work at 12am and home by 1am. I would still not sleep well. After surgery I was sleeping though the night and not getting up going to the bathroom three times within a 5 to 6 hour of the night. Now I sleep though the night and always wake up rested.

At this point you are definitely still healing so you should be getting tired sooner. I have heard of some folks who have had their sleeping patterns changed after surgery.

I also now sleep through the night and early on I was ed and went to bed early. It is much better now at 6 weeks out for me.

Definitely sleeping A LOT more post op. Before surgery 6-7 hours, after 8-9 hours. My doctor told me that this should resolve itself after 12 weeks or so.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
