khaled 23 Posted June 26, 2015 How strict are they about the two year weight history? I don't have one and I am afraid that I will be denied.
zonetracy 53 Posted June 26, 2015 I switched to Aetna this year so I could go the surgeon of choice for my sleeve and I was lucky in that my last insurance company gave me a graph of my weight history for like the past 10 years. Are you new to Aetna or is that something you can get from your PCP? If you haven't been to the doc in the past couple years I think you can use your best guess during that time. khaled 23 Posted June 26, 2015 I am a student here in the US, so there isn't much to provide. I might have history records back in 2013 but my BMI was definitely less than 35. I do have history records in 2014 when I started weight loss surgery process.
zonetracy 53 Posted June 26, 2015 Yeah, make yourself a graph or chart, fill in what you have and best guess the rest, turn it in and see what they say. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!
twittymilk 51 Posted June 26, 2015 Adding the link for Aetna requirements. You don't need 2 years of weight history I was just sleeved in May and did not have that and was approved with no problems. http://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/100_199/0157.html
Scarlett72 13 Posted June 27, 2015 I didn't have a two year weight history either. I got Aetna last August and attained a new doctor in September. I started seeing her for weight management back in February and once every month there after. My bariatric surgeon's patient coordinator sent all my paper work to Aetna and I received approval within 4 days.
