3bzmom 96 Posted June 26, 2015 I have been sampling Protein Drinks and reading the forums here, and I saw at one point that the foam makes people really uncomfortable after surgery. I am using a Blender Bottle to mix my Protein drinks, and it does create a bunch of foam. What is a better option for mixing that won't create the foam? I want to have all of this figured out before August. HAHA
WL WARRIOR 692 Posted June 26, 2015 I've found that almost all methods (shaking, stirring, blending) create foam. Early on, I would let it sit out awhile or stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes. This seemed to help. Now at 8 months post op, I just go ahead and drink the foam. Its incredible the things your sleeve starts to tolerate over time.
SuperDave 1,115 Posted June 26, 2015 Pouring your Protein drink over ice helps with the foam. Plus, keeping it cold makes it taste better while you choke it down.
Recycled 2,182 Posted June 26, 2015 I tried all the powdered shakes and didn't like any of them. Way back when I started, someone on here suggested Premier Protein shakes from costco. I tried them and have been drinking them for over 18 months every single day. They are ready to drink, smoothe like chocolate milk, no grit, no foam, tastes great and the lowest in ratio of calories to Protein. 30 gms protein in 11 ounces and only 160 calories and 1 gm of sugar. Simply cannot be beat. (I check & compare labels on everything)
3bzmom 96 Posted June 26, 2015 I like the Premier Protein shakes from costco, but I'm 300 miles from a Costco, and I definitely need some variety. I really enjoy the Unjury Protein Shakes, and they aren't chalky at all.

3bzmom 96 Posted June 26, 2015 They ship them now? Last time I looked, they didn't. Thanks for that info!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 26, 2015 immersion blenders will make you a Protein Shake without foam. Also, if you are using a Blender Bottle, if you fill it up 100% there will be virtually no air in the bottle and it will be a lot less foamy.
