Gallbladder Problems?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have gallbladder problems post sleeve? At four weeks out (last week) I ended up in the hospital with acute pancreatitis and they removed my gallbladder last Friday. Starting to bounce back now.

I had already lost 50 pounds in about four months prior to surgery and I have been told that might have contributed to the problem. I was just about ten days into working out in the pool again when this happened, so that has been put on a hold for another week or two until my NEW incisions heal.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and how long it took to really get back on track again....Thank you!

7 Months post surgery I had to have my gallbladder removed. Best and worst thing ever. The pain was horrible but now I definitely have to know where the bathroom is when I go somewhere. I swear having my gallbladder out was worse than my sleeve but I bounced back fairly quickly after both.

@@bookworm

Check into Cholestyramine - it has reversed many of my post gall bladder bathroom problems. I know what you're talking about with the need to know where restrooms are.

I'm currently in the hospital going through the same thing. What were your symptoms? Did removing your gallbladder help the pancreatitis?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
