welp here we go. hehe Man i was afraid to put myself in a position of not being able to Eat A 16 oz. steak or a half a cherry pie. But ya know so far Ive made it. The first two weeks per op were the hardest I think Being able to eat and not actually doing it was tough. Now that I cant eat its not so bad. Im comming up on my soft food period and if anyone has any help as to what to eat thats actually good I would love to have the info. Im looking forward to maybe a piece of fish but can not seem to find real good fresh fish. Im from the pacific northwest (peugot sound near seattle) so im very used to running down and grabbing a piece of salmon or even catching it. Out of season there is always hallibut or other white fish or shell fish to eat. Here In central Illinois i seem to only be able to find Catfish or Previously frozen seafood that already has a strong fishy odor. Help in this area as well as some nice ways to cook fish without frying it would be awsome.

Well i can go on forever as I am pretty excited. Especially talking about food. Ohhhh ya, dont get me started talking bout food as I truely am a real food buff. hehe

Welp ill check back later and see whats going on. Good luck to ya ll.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
