swoman2 11 Posted June 25, 2015 I've heard people complaining about pain at he port removal site. Did anyone need more than one week? I work a desk job but I have a 1hr commute each way so I'm worried about energy level one week post op.
NewNewMe 277 Posted June 25, 2015 I took a week off. I could have went back after 3 days. But it was good to have the week to work on Fluid and Protein intake.
Megdelyn 85 Posted June 25, 2015 I ended up taking off more than a week. It wasn't from pain, but I just felt so weak and tired I had trouble walking to my office building from where I park. You'll see that everyone had different post-op experiences. My surgeon's office recommends a week off.
rosemary79 136 Posted June 25, 2015 I took off about a week and a half. For the first few weeks I was always super tired when I went home and went straight to bed. Two weeks off may have treated me bette. I am an assistant bank manager, not too much activity in my job. Truthfully only in the last two weeks (6-7 weeks out from surgery) I have had enough energy to do much after a full work day.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. My surgery date is August 17th. I'm excited to get rid of this band and to have a tool that works for me.
hockeyfan7 249 Posted June 25, 2015 I work from home as a full time teleworker and I still took 90% of a week off. I did check e-mail and respond to some text messages. But I was so exhausted all the time that I slept a lot. The second week I didn't work a full week. I was working about 10 am to 4 pm each day. Week 3 was much better and week 4 is feeling good now.
