I did my psych evaluation last week. Today they called and said the doctor wanted to discuss the results of the testing. Has anyone else had this? I'm freaking out thinking this is going to delay everything.

Did the dr. who did the eval say anything about it when you completed it?

When i got done with mine she told me that she was going to approve me and send my evaluation over to the doctors office.

She just said she would look at it and call me if there was anything to discuss. But everything was basic questions.

Try not to worry too much. Perhaps she just needed clarification or needed some additional information. I know it's easier said than done.. best of luck to you!!

Thank you for the replies. I'm just going to wait and see what happens. I just want to stay on track to get surgery.

I had to have an appointment with the doctor and he just went over the tests and asked me some questions. He gave me a lot of advice and it was actually one of the better doctor visits I had.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. In my program we were told that the main objective is just to ensure that you have a realistic outlook and knowledge about the procedure you will be undergoing.

Mine didn't require any sort of written test. It was a straight on one to one discussion with the psychologist. And like the other poster said, I was also told at the end that she would be recommending me for surgery.

I'm sure yours will do the same.

Mine was the same one page of a few questions asking about general feeling of mental state do u feel hopeless worthless are wanting to hurt yourself and a brief chat with the shrink and at the end was told I'd be approved oh she asked the reason why I wanted the surgery and what my expectations were etc I was just honest mom had diabetes and died as a result of not being willing to change habits etc and that I knew it wasn't going to be a miracle that I'd have to comply with the right foods and some excercise etc the whole thing was maybe 30 mins I sat there for two hours waiting while they had overbooked patients all for the same time and what can u say if u get pissed or leave u get denied

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
