simplyamy 14 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) Okay, ever since I started the puréed diet and soft diet, I have noticed that once I eat, I feel the restriction but I'm still hungry at the same time! Could it be head hunger? Because it's been every darn meal!!!! It's like, I can physically feel my stomach full, but I'm starving at the same time... UGH.... On another note, my doctor told me that I had an extremely large stomach (much larger than average), so it would take a while for my stomach juices to adapt to the new size... Maybe that's causing my false hunger? ???? Edited June 22, 2015 by simplyamy
liannatx 897 Posted June 22, 2015 Are you taking an acid blocker? High acid can mimic hunger.
ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted June 22, 2015 High acid can mimic hunger as @@liannatx said. If you are physically full and yet hungry then it is definitely in your head. Measure out your foods and when you eat what you are allowed to have leave the table and go find something to do. You are most likely not hungry. Good luck! Daisee68 2,493 Posted June 22, 2015 Yep, I have been taking a Zantac which seems to help. When I have had intense hunger (pre surgery), it would take me several days to figure out "Oh yeah, that is my acid reflux rearing it's ugly head".
simplyamy 14 Posted June 23, 2015 Just purchased Zantac and oh my gosh...... What wonders it has done!!! So relieved!!!!! ????
Daisee68 2,493 Posted June 23, 2015 So glad it helped! I am told HOPEFULLY acid reflux will eventually go away so we won't need Zantac nor have the mock hunger issues.
