MrsSugarbabe 727 Posted June 22, 2015 I don't know that there is any way past it. Our tummies have always made noises when digesting food and beverages, but the volume increased now that our tummies are smaller. I don't know if it will ever stop. Mine tummy makes noise after drinking and eating. Yes, it is loud enough for others to hear. Some folks think it is gas and that chewing some Tums might help, but that doesn't work for me. Djmohr 6,965 Posted June 22, 2015 @@caligul Too funny. I am literally having lunch, took my first bite of cottage cheese while reading your post. I am 8.5 months post op and still rumbling! It just comes with the territory I think. My grouch pouch loves to tell me when she is happily eating or drinking. She also yells at me when I eat too much by being very very quiet. I can usually tell if I am full because of her lack of noise. You will get used to it but others do hear it. My hubby thinks it is actually funny.
gowalking 10,790 Posted June 22, 2015 My issue is passing gas. I do it alot. Luckily most of the time there's no odor but there sure is noise. I've farted in front of friends and family. I can't help it and just do the best I can by laughing it off...

Miss Meg 199 Posted June 23, 2015 My tummy has never rumbled so much since I've had Lapband Surgery - and yes it is extremely loud. There is no hard and fast rule as to when mine erupts... Sometimes it is when I am hungry, sometimes it is when I am full, sometimes it just happens for the sake of it. A really very odd sensation but very funny at the same time - the looks that come my way are hilarious...
CanyonBaby 1,852 Posted June 23, 2015 DON'T shoot the messenger, but my surgical team has informed me this will more than likely be PERMANENT. So give her/him a name and let it defend itself!!!!

MrsSugarbabe 727 Posted June 23, 2015 My hubby thinks my tummy noises are funny to listen to...... While at work, if the noises start and others are around and can hear it, I just tell them it's my new tummy (most folks with whom I work know about my surgery) and then apologize for the distraction. Most folks find it an interesting phenomenon.
