This one side effect I was most afraid of!! Some call them "Grandma arm," some call them "Bye, bye arm." I have compared myself to a flying squirrel or a bat because, baby... I have grown wings! I have never had the most toned arms but they have been solid. Now, they are just hanging and blowing in the wind! I love the my weight loss journey so far but I am not loving my arms and thighs right now. HELP!!! Somebody fix it. [emoji17]

I also had bat wings and someone called me a "flying squirrel" in college. The only resolution is a brachioplasty. I was hesitant about the trade-off between the scar and the wings, but I'm glad I chose the scar. I still feel fairly ashamed to wear short sleeves in public since the scar is a pretty clear indication of what surgery I had, but make-up helps and the scar is still new, so it will fade. Ultimately, no matter how much I toned or worked out, I still had a TON of skin.

Let me see if I can figure out how to add a picture to show you what I mean...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
