My starting weight was 330 in November 2014, morning of surgery 4/6 I was 299, now I am 248.

I have had upper back pain constantly. I'm starting to stregthen my back, but as anyone else had problems with their back since surgery. I carried most of the weight in my belly

It also doesn't help that I hunch over at work.

The physician assistant at my surgeon's office told me that my upper back pain may be because I hunch my back and have poor posture.

I am only speaking for myself but this comes from years of low self esteem and trying to hide my large belly. Maybe too much information but I am also large breasted and I try to hide that by hunching over. Never realized these things until she pointed it out.

My oxygen levels are never quite right because I am hunched and not expanding my lungs enough,

I recently started trying to be more conscience of my posture and believe me it is not easy. Whenever I feel the pain, I correct my posture.

You don't mention it but if you hunching because you are at a desk, maybe adjusting the height of your chair may help you, its helped me.

I have lost 35 pounds since March and slowly I am learning to walk tall and show off my new body,

Talk to your surgeon or physician about it, they may help.

Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Yes - I'm starting my 4th week out from surgery and I have back pain. I work from home and I cannot sit at my desk or at the kitchen table to work. I have to work sitting on the couch and moving around frequently. I'm going to ask my surgeon about it tomorrow.

I was sleeved 3/16/15. After surgery I had really bad back pain, mostly upper and mid back. It was everyday almost all day. I work at a desk and started back to work 3 days post op. Even when I would exercise and do stretches it didn't help. I am now 3 months out and my back pain is pretty much gone. It did take quite awhile but it has subsided. Hopefully yours will too!

I'm so glad to see this post!! mine has however been lower back pain. I was sleeved on may 13. my back pain started a couple of weeks ago and got so bad I could hardly move. I started going to my chiropractor again last week and he said with my large amount of weight loss it causes my spine and hips to recalibrate how i carry my weight so everything gets out of whack. I've been getting adjustments every other day trying to get everything back in position. I'm glad to hear some of you have seen a decrease in pain over time. I hope that's the case with me.

I was sleeved June 16th and my back has been more painful than usual. Glad to hear it will maybe get better over time. Can't wait until I can go back to my chiropractor.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
