rnwrny 15 Posted June 21, 2015 Hi there! I had my bypass Tuesday afternoon. I've pretty much needed to nap every day which seems reasonable to me. Today however I feel extra tired. Almost dizzy at times and besides walking around the house to make my shakes I haven't had the energy to go outside and do a real walk. (Of course that could be because it's hot as anything out there today!) My husband went out for a bit, came home and was changing clothes in our bedroom for about 15 minutes before I heard him. I'm normally a light sleeper. Is this just one of those recovery things you think? I didn't get a ton of sleep last night, about 7 hours, but it just feels a bit excessive to me. But I could be getting impatient with this whole recovery process in general. Thanks for any input!

I'm only getting a little of my shake down a day. Really tired, but trying to walk some. Hope tomorrow is better. Good Luck!
Daisee68 2,493 Posted June 21, 2015 Mine let up on day 7. honestly I woke up 1 week post-op and could tell before I got out of bed how much better I felt. Like night and day from day before. Make sure you are getting in as much Fluid as you can. Dehydration is very easy to get and will make you feel awful.
Aeon 1 Posted June 22, 2015 I'm back working today after my surgery last Monday and can already tell it was a mistake. I'm just way too exhausted at this point and will probably have a nap or two if I can.
teacheristia 2 Posted June 22, 2015 I couldn't of made it back to work today. It is exactly a week from surgery. I'm doing better, but still taking it slow.
RNsleever715 117 Posted June 22, 2015 Yikes... I'm planning on working a week out... Sounds like that's a mistake ???? I hope you all get to feeling better soon!
megmom757 113 Posted June 22, 2015 I am 12 days out from gastric bypass. Day 5 was an awful day for me also. I slept almost the entire day. There are still days that I am exhausted and take naps. I'm feeling pretty good as far as incisions go except the top one still hurts. Remember to get those fluids in. Broths saved the day for me. The warm just seemed to go down much better than Water. Good luck everyone????
