I am going on my third month of post-op and have lost 34 pounds. My problem is that I'm losing a considerable amount of weight in my legs. I have an apple shape body and so I am very round at my torso, and I have skinny legs, So I look like and apple with toothpicks for legs.

I have a back problem and so do not get much exercise to put some muscle in my chicken legs.

Has anyone had this problem?

I would like to hear some advise on how to target my weight lose at my belly. It is very happy since most people don't get to see my legs because I'm always in slacks. Thank God.

Any advise would be helpful.

Not sure if you can change how we are built. I would love to lose in my boobs but that is not happening either. We can only lose where our body allows us to. Bummer I know.

I think it just happens where it happens. You may find that it will shift eventually. Just keep on going cuz it's the only way to find out where it will come from next.

When I first read the tag line, it registered as "chicken torso" and I thought gee, I've never seen that cut before! :D

I'm kind of the same way. When I was younger I'd lose from my waist first. Now my belly is the only thing stopping me from going down another size and most of my pants make me look like I'm wearing a saggy diaper, lol.

There's no real way to target fat from a specific place, but I've been working with a trainer to build core muscles so everything pulls in tighter. My back is hosed too, from a car accident back in April, so I've chosen to work with someone who can show me things (and help me vary anything that doesn't feel right immediately).

Exactly the same problem. In fact, my daughter said to me today, "mom, I can really tell in your legs and butt that you've lost weight but your belly and arms look the same." Sigh, I've started doing sit ups and lifting hand weights hoping this will change!

Try keeping a measurement log of your hips and waist and busy I know for me I don't see the progress in those areas because I have the most to loose there but in reality I've lost 10 inches

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
