I am 35. I've lost 130 lbs; I'm 5'6. I have enough loose skin on my upper thighs that I wear a skirted swim suit. I have lose skin and still a lot of fat on my stomach and my upper arms are developing that 'bat wing' deformity crap. My face is looking pretty good, though. I have 70 pounds left to lose.

I am one year post op. 43 years old. My starting weight was 271 and current weight is 152. My face and neck are doing fine. I have loose skin on my upper thighs, my stomach is saggy, my arms are a little saggy but not too bad.

I worked out and toned throughout this process. I have really ripped legs and arms under my loose skin.

I might get my stomach and thighs done later down the road, but for now I am too happy enjoying life to want to deal with the downtime/recovery. Maybe next year?

I think a lot of it depends on age and genetics. The bottom line is I would rather have jiggly skin and feel great!! Good luck to you!!

I am 31. I started at 237 and I am now 126. Prior to my first plastics procedure, I had very loose skin on my upper arms, thighs, and all around my lower stomach, back, and thighs. I pretty much looked like a deflated Michellin marshmallow. Even after plastics, there is a little skin remaining around the top of my bra line by my armpit area and my thighs are unlikely to ever be very attractive, despite having a thigh lift.

So did you end up having a thigh lift or you have t had it yet!! ?

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
