I think it is normal to have (LMS) Last Meal Syndrome haha I love that. I haven't even gone to my consult and I am already stuffing my face! I think I better at least try not to gain before my surgery. The low carb thing is a great idea. I bet it will help make the transition to the post op diet a lot esier. Good luck to you!

Yes it helps to shrink the liver. But there is a bigger issue here.

YOU!

After banding you can still over eat and over drink. Do a PB here and there and head back to the trough!

Its absolutely imparative to get your head on straight.

wanna chat call me 626 675 4143

After this two week diet you will have a medical implant that restricts food from flowing freely into your tummy. Whatcha goona do?

Don't beat your self up. But get serious. This is the attitude that causes many folks to lose on half of their weight and many others to not lose even that much. If you need some good old fashion training on how to work your band Call Me. I will not be gentle but I will be honest. You will benefit. Peace Matt

Whew. I am glad I am not the only one bingeing. My surgery date has

not officially been set yet - shooting for August-but my appointment with the surgeon is on July 17th. I feel like I need to EAT now, because

I won't be able to later. Actually, I have been trying to at least maintain my weight (isn't that crazy?) but have gained 10 pounds in the last month. :phanvan

Well.....I was weighed at my consult and scheduling of surgery! I then ate everything in sight for the next 5 days....and then started my 3 day liquid diet before surgery......I weighed the same! Would I do it again! Yep it was my last good-bye to food addiction as I had "used" it for years!!!!! Yes it would've been better to have lost some during that liquid diet stage beforehand but i certainly don't regret it! I said my good-byes and now it is onward and forward!:clap2:

Well at least you see it as an addiction. It most certainly is.

However one thing here and that is this, ready? here goes.

"It is not goodbye to food" You will be experiencing the addiction every time you walk past the fridge or what ever the triggers are for you. Get ready because this is what I talk about when I say "working the band". Every Day in every way you will get better at it.

If you ever need help just ask.

I've done the same thing (binging)........hopefully won't pay for it...my blood work showed my liver is normal size... (they can tell that from blood?) My problem is that I'm right AT the correct BMI to qualify for the surgery, so losing before seems contradictory (particularly since insurance is paying) I keep thinking if I get rolled into the operating room and no longer have the right BMI the claim won't be paid; probably a stupid thought..... The pre-op diet was basically cut your portions in half and reduce carbs. I have a week -- I'm going to try very hard...

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
