Weight loss plateau! HELP!

Recommended Posts

I need any and all advise. I am 9 months post op. I lost 35 pounds and then nothing! I haven't changed my eating habits and even with fills I've stopped losing weight. I walk approximately 10,000 steps a day. No carbs. Has any one else experienced this? If so what should I do to boost my weight loss again? I was thinking to only do Protein Shakes for a couple days but not sure.

Are you tracking your calories? How long have you been stalled?

Yes. I'm about 1200 calories daily. It's been over 2 months.

If you are not already doing this, I would recommend getting a kitchen scale to weigh your food and a calorie tracking app. Verify that your daily calories are exactly what you think they are.

You also might want to go to a doctor, explain your situation and get blood work done to make sure you don't have anything working against your weight loss goals.

If everything is normal and your calories are consistent, consult your nutritionist about further restricting your calories.

Great job on the 10,000 steps per day btw.

are your clothes getting looser or too big?

if so, you are losing even if the scales doesnt show it yet

stay the course, continue doing what you do and it will eventually

(inches lost are true signs of weight loss)

sounds like you are doing great to me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
