Chocolate cravings and dreaded PMS

Recommended Posts

Forgive me men, but I need the ladies ears for a moment!

I'm 4 weeks post op and am dealing with my first real pms cravings. I want chocolate! What do you veterans do to stifle your cravings? Tonight I mixed a tbsp of organic Peanut Butter and Sugar Free Chocolate pudding and that seemed to kill it. When is it safe to eat even a small square of dark chocolate? That used to be my go to before surgery!

Try adding unsweetened cocoa powder to your chocolate Protein Shakes. It's low calories and adds some additional chocolate flavor. If you like Peanut Butter I recommend PB2. It's powdered peanut butter and much lower in fat than conventional peanut butter. (I mix it into vanilla Protein shakes)

I made a DELICIOUS Protein shake with half a container of my chocolate ready to drink Protein Shake (Premier Protein, but you can really use anything), a handful of ice cubes, and a single serving container of SF chocolate pudding.

It tasted like brownie batter and it was DELICIOUS.

Dark chocolate Protein pudding, chocolate Protein Shakes, chocolate calcium chews, chocolate protein bars...I haven't had many days without chocolate since surgery.

I haven't seen dark chocolate protein pudding? Is there a brand name that sells that?

I like the WonderSlim Dark Chocolate. I make it as is or add PB2 to it and it really hits the chocolate spot for me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
