rear624 16 Posted June 18, 2015 I'm doing the 3 Protein Shakes for meals and adding in veggies here and there (with the heavenly serving of fruit of course), but I'm almost in pain from the hunger. It keeps me awake at night and I feel "zombie-like" and starving through the day. I'm not a big veggie eater to begin with, so the "unlimited veggies" was not exactly the silver lining.???? Is anyone else feeling this way? Any suggestions??
Dysruption 70 Posted June 18, 2015 First, if you are starving, you need to determine if it's head hunger or is it your stomach has too much acid build up? A lot of Protein shakes have some stuff in them that can cause a build up of acid in the stomach. Too much acid in your stomach makes you feel like you are hungry and you may not be. Are you taking antacids? Secondly, how far are you out from surgery? That will determine some good tips to help you choose some other things to eat that are good for you and will give you as much Protein as you need for the day. ShrinkingPeach 1,291 Posted June 18, 2015 While you are asking for suggestions on things you can eat, consult your pre-op plan. Stick to your instructions, they are for a reason. Good luck!
rear624 16 Posted June 18, 2015 I haven't had the surgery yet and I'm already feeling this way...that's what scares me! I'm not taking an antacid...good to know. Thanks guys!
Dysruption 70 Posted June 18, 2015 Oh this is pre-op! I should have read where the question was asked, my apologies! I was not the best on my pre-op diet to be honest. Trust me though, post-op is a whole different ball game. You will most likely not even feel hungry. There are times I have to tell myself it's time to eat because I have to get my Protein in. Just hang in there until you have the surgery! Trust me, it's all worth it! When you're 4 weeks out and shedding pounds and clothes sizes, you'll look back on these days and laugh! rear624 16 Posted June 19, 2015 It just doesn't seem real that I could possibly not be hungry after the surgery...I believe it, but I can't relate yet. I hope I'm able to laugh at these pre-op days in the future....I'm sure not laughing now (I don't have the energy to, ha ha). Thank you for your positive words!????
