Oh wow you have lost a lot....

I m 3 months post op and I have lost like 32 pounds...

But my starting weight was 245 pounds, now I m at 215 pounds.... This 3rd month has been quite low and boring weight loss wise...????

But I m gonna give myself a decent 1 whole year to lose 100 pounds☺️

I think the mistake a lot of WLS patients make is thinking about weight loss the same way they might if they were on a diet. When you are on a diet, you want to lose weight FAST and get to goal ASAP so the diet will be "over". With WLS, it's never "over". So whether it takes you 6 months or 16 months to get to goal, it doesn't matter. As long as you eventually get there and can MAINTAIN it once you are there. Ten years from now, no one's going to be looking back and saying to themselves "if only I could have gotten to goal one month sooner!".

First 2 weeks I dropped 34 lbs and at one month was down 40. Now I'm down 44. 86 to go!

@Seamster44 Your loss is incredible! You are doing fantastic. I wish I could lose at that rate, I don't let go of the weight fast, never have... but I tend to lose pretty steadily. I am grateful for every pound I lose, lol. I am Insulin resistant, PCOS, and now menopausal LOL. Yet I am 100% sure I will make it to goal, even if I turtle my way there. My 3 months of losses are -19, -6, and -7 I think... I am down 34 lbs now in just over 3 months.

@☁9⃣B I am losing at about the same rate as you! In fact our stats are almost identical... I started at 250, at 216 now... and am giving myself a year to lose 100 lbs.

I m with you on this sister... Weight loss is happening slow and steady.... Again no complains... Just making it a point to stay focused and positive...

At this point that's the only key ☺️

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
