How much do you eat?

Recommended Posts

I feel the same way you do. I have had 2 fills so far. I can still eat a lot. I can eat a whole ground chuck burger with cheese on it, (no bun) and a whole ear of corn!! whats up with that.

I am getting confused because I really never feel like I am getting stuffed. Now I do get stuck sometimes and get that little problem taken care of and the I can finish my meal.

I have a hard time eating much, with my first meal of the day. I will eat a Protein Bar and coffee and that goes down fine, but anything else and I'm stuck.

I know I am eating too much and I am a slow loser too. I am getting a fill on Aug 22. Mean time, any suggestion on what to do to help me? I have a 4cc band and I have 2cc in the band.

Thanks, Debbie

please try not to drink until about 1 to 1 1//2 hours after eating-0-you are washing the food out of the pouch into the lower stomach. I was told from the beginning to eat 1 cup of food three times a day--no snacking.....inbetween I drink anything I please, mostly no or low calorie. NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think I could do this!! Down over 100lbs!! Banded by Woody Denham ENH on 6/13/06

I got my band on 5/23/07 i was 335lbs now im 285...im trying to stick to a low fat low carb low cal. diet..i just got my first fill 2 weeks ago....after i could eat regular food again i tested the waters with a slice of pizza...Man that was a mistake....since then i eat oatmeal in the morn..which fills me up a lil bit...a salad for lunch which fills me up,but i still dont feel any restrictions...and for dinner some kind meat. Tonight we had chicken cardon blue....i had a whole chicken breast (small) and some green beans...i felt full, but no restrictions...every once in a while i might feel something get stuck, but thats it....am i eating too much? i just dont understand what i should be feeling...im just getting in the habbit of telling myself thats enough food..did i stretch my ban or something? i dont know..sometimes its just too much stuff to think about....I know before the band i would of had 2 pieces of chicken so i guess thats a good way to look at it.

I looked through this part of the forum, and didn't see a thread like this.

I go for my first fill on July 5th, so I don't have any restriction yet.

During the 'mushy' diet stage, my nutritionists were very firm about only having 4 -5 oz. of food per meal, 3 meals per day. My understanding is that, once I'm at my 'sweet spot', that's how much I'll eat...about a 1/4 cup of food per meal.

Just wondering if that's pretty much what folks have...that's two tablespoons of a Protein and two tablespoons of a fruit or veggie.

thanks,

DBAGuy

Thank you very much. Congratulations for your weight loss. Amazing! Varja

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
