I was sleeved on May 20th and other than my 9 day stall, I've done well having lost 37 lbs as of this morning. I know this sounds terrible, but I've lost so much in my face that I'm beginning to look like a Shar Pei! I'm thrilled with my weight loss, but the wrinkles not so much! Previously all the fat on my face really filled in those grooves. It's the new me! ????

LOL...I totally know what you mean. My neck gives "turkey" new meaning! Oh Well, I don't have to look at my neck when I'm out running, playing with my grandaughter or any of the other things that loosing almost 90 pounds has given me!

I just found this post and I can absolutely see this happening to me. Right now I have a young looking smooth face because I keep it filled in nicely with fat but I have already lost 38 pounds on my required 6 month diet and I can see wrinkles already! I told my husband to hold onto his drawers because once I have the surgery on January 26th he may not recognize me anymore. I will look like a prune!

I have lost 64 pounds since my gastrectomy September, 2015, and I too look older. BUT I feel much younger--more flexible, more energetic, and just happier. I definitely think the surgery has made my life much easier and I don't regret it. If after losing more weight I feel terrible about my face and neck, I would consider plastic surgery, but not now. Believe me it's worth it.

This is precisely why God made plastic surgeons and aestheticians.

I'm 3 months out and have lost a total 73 lbs. People tell me I look younger even though I have a turkey gobbler (instead of 2 or 3 chins) and if I'm reachin' you better watch the arm flap cause it might take you out! My stomach dips in the middle, my legs have hanging skin but I feel soooo much better and I can do so much more than before - plus my blood work came back good as was my EKG, blood pressure, etc. When you're 62 to hell with what others think I am happier, healthier and can get up and down stairs when I am showing houses. Besides if I lift some weights and do some cardio it will tighten up some.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
