Gastric bypass and hernia repair

My Surgeons office advises me to plan to be out of work for 4 to 6 weeks. I have an office job... Does this sound right to a lot of you?

I took 3. My office recommended six weeks as well.

Maybe for the hernia? Not necessarily for gastric bypass. I was told I could go back in as little as 1 week (though I haven't). I will be out total of 2 1/2 weeks.

I was off work for a week and 2 days for gastric bypass only. I am two weeks out and feel totally normal. I am walking/running 2 miles a day. My surgeon released me to do everything at 10 days post op.

I had bypass and a hernia repair. I had very little pain and the hernia repair wasn't noticeable at all in terms of pain.

I had a mild hernia that was repaid during my bypass surgery. I was only off a week. (My surgery was on a Tuesday and by that following Wednesday I was back at work. So I took 7 days off. I have a desk job tho).
