Hello,

I am 2 months out and have been steadily losing 3 lbs a week since my initial 30 lb drop. I recently started full solids and felt I was doing well. About a week ago I started low dose of birth contol. Since then, I have also begun to have stomach issues. I'm am nauseated when I am getting ready to eat, during, and after until it digests. I have no desire to eat and forcing it causes reflux. No real abnormal pain just extreme nausea. I have never actually thrown up and am taking my nausea meds. I also have regular bowels but an intense long lasting burning pain after I go...for hours.

Last blood work (June 2) showed slightly low protien and Vitamin D so I was trying to up my protien and now take liquid Vitamin D. I was also dehydrated but have that under control, I think.

I have called the dr and he is scheduling me for another gallbladder ultrasound tomorrow and a HIDA scan the next day if no stones are found. Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Has anyone had this HIDA scan? Is it painful?

The only painful thing about the HIDA scan is the needle going into your arm for an IV! You just lay there for an hour and a half. No big deal.

Perhaps you can try the depo prevara (spelling???) shot instead of birth control pill. Lasts three months and is even more effective than the pill.

Called my bariatric surgeon. He immediately did a gallbladder work up and it was removed yesterday. I developed several gallstones over the last 2 months because of the rapid weight loss. Thanks for the support. The birth control is under control :)

That was fast! Glad they got to the bottom of it and you're back on the way to healing and getting fit!
