bnm4 93 Posted June 15, 2015 So I have my surgery date set (July 7th!) but I am a nanny for my 6 month old niece - how long am I not allowed to hold her? I'm 22 and active (if that helps at all?) - I know this is major abdominal surgery but I love taking care of her and don't want to leave her parents in that predicament
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted June 15, 2015 You should check with your surgeon for his or her lifting restrictions. They all vary a bit but it's important to follow YOUR doctor's orders.

VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted June 29, 2015 How long do you plan to take off work after surgery? A lot of people take two weeks off from work post-op. You are about to have major surgery. It means you need to take care of YOURSELF first. If you're like most folks you aren't going to feel too whippy. How people feel the first week or two post-op varies a lot. A LOT! dford914 0 Posted July 4, 2015 I'm a nanny also. My surgeon told me don't lift anything over 7lbs for a month. The kids I watch are 2 1/2 and 5. It's difficult sometime bc I forget. I'm almost 2 weeks out.
