apie87 4 Posted June 15, 2015 I am new to the site and the procedure for my WLS. I was talking with friends who have had the bypass surgery and talk about the passing of gas and how lethal it is. I have a strange network around me lol. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on this for me. Have you noticed a distinctive difference and have you noticed a passing point (no pun intended). I work in a small office with a few others and I don't want to be clearing the office all day... sparksrn 65 Posted June 15, 2015 I only had gas right after surgery and I don't think it had any smell
Djmohr 6,965 Posted June 15, 2015 I have not really had that problem other than in the first couple of weeks. Once I was back on a normal diet everything went back to normal.
wahtx 15 Posted June 15, 2015 I've had lots of gas when waking in the AM but it seems to be slacking off. I also had my gallbladder removed at the same time and I've read that excessive flatulence could be a side affect.
F4T-TRAP 37 Posted June 16, 2015 I didn't have a lot of gas, but the smell of the ketones was yucky for the first few weeks. My girlfriend hated it, said she always smelled it on me, but it went away eventually.
MSWMike 22 Posted June 18, 2015 My friends told me they got bad gas right after surgery due to the gas they use to inflate your stomach. The other time they got gas is when they overdid it on their Proteins. They so aptly named them Protein farts. See @@apie87, we all have "those friends" around us :-)
