I'm getting sleeved July 2nd and I'm trying to get everything ready. What kind of Vitamins are you using post op and how soon were you advised to start them? Thanks!

I started my Vitamins when I got home. I take a chewable Multivitamin. I also take Biotin not cause I have to but because I want to it will hopefully help with Hair loss when that happens. I do take a liquid Calcium, I could not chew the large calcium from twin labs, it was terrible. You need 6 of them to get your recommended dose. I also have to take two Omeprazole per day and I take 4 dissolveable tablets of VitaminD because mine was low pre-op

My vsg is scheduled for June 29th. I plan on taking Bariatric Fusion ( 2 a day) for my multi Vitamin and then a sublingual B12 along with that (my surgeon gave me a pre-approved vitamin list). I'm supposed to start them when I get home from the hospital. I also take Biotin because I don't want to lose or have thinning hair.

The place I got my VSG done at recommended Bariatric Advantage Multi (2x/day):

https://www1.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog/group/110373/

and the Bariatric Advantage calcium chews (3x/day):

They're not cheap but they're what I'm taking right now. I'll take them up to my 2mo appt and see how my blood work looks.

I was given a list to take asap after surgery. I am taking Biotin & zinc for the hair and its not specifically on the list. I am currently doing a sublingual B12, 2 chewable kids Vitamins & 2 citracal petites. I did the liquid Calcium but it became too sweet and I bought the "petites" citracal thinking I could take them. They are bigger than a plain M&M and I was told to not take anything any bigger than that. I am going to get the chewable flavored calcium that comes in a foil bag when I finish them off. They look like small now or laters. I was told no gummies, period. I was also told to take Iron, but that caused "other" issues :D

I recommend Caltrate chewable in chocolate truffle. They taste very good and it's like a chocolate treat during the day when you can't have candy. ????

They are in a pink bag at your local Walmart. I eat 3-4 a day. Just don't take them with your Iron if you have to take iron. Calcium will absorb the iron and vice versa.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
