gowalking 10,790 Posted June 15, 2015 I hate the idea of any more surgery but saw the bariatric surgeon for my regular visit on Friday and showed her the 'golf ball'. She said it wasn't dangerous but I really needed to get it fixed. So...a lower profile port is what I will get along with her stitching it to the muscle so it gets buried deeper. She said it would hurt more to get fills but I don't get any now so I don't care about what might or might not happen. I tried on a dress last week that I couldn't buy because my port was so visible. Will be nice to not have to deal with that anymore. Then she mentioned that she didn't do this too often because most bandsters didn't become as thin as I have. She said there's no fat for the port to be hidden by. I must say, I liked how that sounded.
Sharpie 3,306 Posted June 15, 2015 You will do great Liz. I wish I was as thin as you are but I am okay with my port not sticking out. You cant even tell I have one except a small scar. I have had 3 fills and it hasn't been painful at all. I don't want more surgery either but think at some point I will have to have my apron done. am holding off as long as possible. Take Care and heal well.
kah1213 311 Posted September 5, 2015 Hey did you have your revision surgery? Mine is booked for 9/30.
gowalking 10,790 Posted September 5, 2015 How about that! My surgery is the day before you... on the 29th. Are they also putting your port further into the muscle to hide it?
kah1213 311 Posted September 20, 2015 Yes. I'm getting low profile port and they're going to bury it deep in the muscle. I'm looking forward to it, but I expect some discomfort after surgery. My current port really shows, so I'm excited for the revision
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted September 20, 2015 Good luck hopefully it's not to painful .
gowalking 10,790 Posted September 20, 2015 Went for pre-op testing yesterday and per the nurse, I should be feeling much better in a few days post op. I can swim in three weeks, gentle exercise/walking/sex in two-three weeks. The boyfriend is trying to get in as much nookie as he can now...lol.
kah1213 311 Posted September 30, 2015 I had my port revision surgery this morning. All went well and I just have some pain in the ab muscle since they buried the new port pretty deep. I think I might actually go back to work tomorrow, and I'm just taking Tylenol instead of the prescription painkillers. I don't want to jinx it, but I'm surprised at how well I'm actually feeling

Same as you....the new port should be pretty deep. I had a couple of prescription meds but nothing since this morning. I'm working from home tomorrow and Friday but back to the office on Monday.
