Fairlife Milk is ultra purified, contains no gluten, lactose, has higher Calcium, higher Protein, and 1/2 of the sugar. Regular milk has 8g protein, Fairlife has 13grams. I love Isopure powder.I get the zero carb powder so I don't have to worry about carbs and the milk only has 6 carbs in 8 oz. Isopure is not gritty and mixes well, but as I have found, protein powders have a different taste for different people. I have tried a few others and couldn't handle them, especially designer whey powder. If you have 3 cups a day, you have 60+ grams of protein, and 24 oz of Water.< /p>

My dietician told me about Fairlife milk too. It is highly filtered. After my bypass, I became allergic to milk, so I started using Fairlife. It is great!!! You can get it at most grocery stores now. I am a band to bypass too. Congrats on the big decision! I am so glad I got rid of that band. It never settled right for me. The bypass is so much more practical for real life. And I lost all my weight very easily by following the rules, Protein first, then some veggies and fruit. But it takes awhile to get to the regular food stage. Hang in there and remember your stomach needs time to heal right and that is why you can't eat regular foods for awhile. Good luck! Tracy

I am definitely learning that this is true @@Tlmarsh and the others who have posted. I still do not have any appetite. I do not desire to eat or drink, but I am slowly drinking my Protein and Water daily. The sight, smell of food from my family doesn't bother me at all. I'm taking things slowly and enjoying the idea of what my new life is going to be. I did have to get on the scale, just to see what it said. Tomorrow will be one week post op and I am down 12lbs. I wish everyone continual success.

@@Dibaby44 I spent 3 nights at the hospital. My doctor wanted to be very cautious since I had a revision.

Don't be nervous. I had absolutely no fear. I was so overwhelmed with faith and excitement! Went in strong and came out stronger! You can do it and you will be just fine!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
