IamKe69 18 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) I had the RNY... I'm am feeling well, but I'm taking it one day at a time. I'm almost two weeks out. However I did do too much one day and I was in so much pain. What procedure did you have? Edited July 12, 2015 by IamKe69
smrogg 49 Posted July 12, 2015 I had RNY also. So far it's been pretty easy for me. The surgery was nothing. My cesareans were worse. Hardest part right now is going out and enjoying summer life without food being a part of it.
IamKe69 18 Posted July 12, 2015 That's great. I know when I woke up in recovery my back was killing me. They said it was trapped gas and once it passes the pain in my back would go away. I got up and walked the same night I had surgery. I am sometimes really thirsty, but I just learned to consume more liquids. I am still getting use to the 30...30..30. smrogg 49 Posted July 13, 2015 SCRAMBLED EGG DAY!! Woohoo!!!! I could only eat 1/3 of it but it tasted so good!!! Then my husband made me lentils with ground up chicken and that was amazing too. Anyone else try "new" foods this week? I'm learning that I actually do like healthy foods as long as they're flavorful.
smileybear76 24 Posted July 14, 2015 I can eat a whole egg. I have only had that too full feeling once. It kind of scares me. I'm not really ever hungry though.
TeeNahh 40 Posted July 14, 2015 I just had my first egg since surgery too ! I'm so happy it stayed down!
kell778 46 Posted July 14, 2015 I tried an egg but it was hard boiled so I mashed it to bits in my mouth. But it wasn't fantastic. My new thing is cutting potatoes into strips and baking them until they are mushy and it's like I'm eating fries!!! Yummy!! Mashed potatoes can get sooo boring. smileybear76 24 Posted July 14, 2015 Be careful with the potatoes. You don't want to start training yourself that carbs are ok. Remember Protein is the way to go.
greeneyezz 11 Posted July 14, 2015 Did you all have gastric bypass?
smrogg 49 Posted July 14, 2015 I believe so. I had it.
gbveteran4d 9 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Hey, my surgery was also June 29th in Schenectady, NY! Today's day 15 (Gastric Bypass) Edited July 14, 2015 by gbveteran4d
TeeNahh 40 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) It's so hard cutting out the carbs ! Potatoes Pasta and brown rice are my weakness. So far I've had a can of potato Soup that lasted 2 days and it was yummy. Since I am off purée and back to solid food again, I need some recipes, what are you finding is a good Protein meal ? I'm a chicken girl & was told it's too dry for me now ( not a seafood person) Also, yes I had gastric bypass Edited July 14, 2015 by TeeNahh
gbveteran4d 9 Posted July 14, 2015 ^ @@TeeNahh are you physically able to eat carbs? Or have you mainly cut them out to make room for Protein? I got stuck eating mashed potatoes somewhat regularly but have since stopped. I just wanted something warm that wasn't liquid.
TeeNahh 40 Posted July 14, 2015 I can eat them sadly, I had mac n cheese during my purée stage too and it wasn't an issue for me. I'm trying to find yummy Protein to forget the carbs.
