Hello gastric sleeve family!!! So I have surgery June 5 so I'm 9 days post-op and I have to say it's getting hard with all these mind games my body be playing with me. So have any of you experience a cheat moment where you ate a piece of food and then your stomach like made you feel like a burning sensation and like for a moment like some one punch you to where it kinda got hard to breathe?? And another thing... I know I'm suppose to be on liquids but can some one give me some suggestions on what other stuff other than broth we can have as like a Meal Replacement ?

I found this downloadable manual online called NEW BARIATRIC MANUAL its a pdf File it is real close to the manual my nutritionist gave me. This thing is 32 pages and it breaks everything down for you see if you can find it online.

On my day 9 I will be on pureed foods like smashed bananas, super steamed carrots mushed, maybe even broccoli steamed and mushed. I can do my smoothies and eggs soft scrambled.

I am on day 4 now and am on full liquid until day 7 thats when they have me graduating to pureed foods. but even on full liquids I can do watery grits and cream of wheats it even said oatmeal but I have never seen runny oatmeal and doesn't sound appealing at all to me.

There is a time a day for all foods you may want to eat don't sabotage your progress. I know I am going to one day meet with my hot wings again but my favorite restaurant sells them roasted or I can make my own version using chicken breast or something.

My doc's say in 6 months I should be able to eat the same things I was eating before surgery just in modified amounts. So, i know this short period of sacrifice is going to yield a lot of weight loss and add self control which is what I need a lot of.

See this picture? See the line of staples going along the whole side of your stomach? THAT'S why you feel the way you do when you eat food too soon. Stick to your liquids until your surgeon okay's you to move forward. I know it's hard, but your health depends on it. I found that gourmet Soups (with no chunks) helped me through the full liquid stage a little. And I was on full liquids for SIX WEEKS. If I can do that, you can do this. Hang in there, and stick to your surgeons orders!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
