I had run on May 23 with Dr. Houseworth. My surgery went well. I have had good experiences with the office and the nutritional office

Deb, can you tell me me about your experience? I'm debating between Dr. Srikanth and Dr. Houseworth.

He was great. Very kind and knowledgable, but honesty I didn't see him much. I saw him for 2 pre-surgical consults, the day of surgery, and the day of my discharge. My follow up appointments are with mid level physicians. I read up about him and he's done more robotic sleeves than anyone in the state. Overall, very happy with my choice.

I just had RNY with Houseworth June 20. He's very talented and experienced but doesn't check on you much post op which was disappointing because I had a rough go with it in terms of pain and would have liked to hear from him why I was having such a hard time.

Pretty good. The first 2 weeks were rough. I thought I was only going to be off work 1 week, but ended taking off 2. I'm cleared for all foods at this point. But meeting my Protein requirements is challenging.

Hey everybody. Surgery went well. No complaints or complications. I guess the only thing I would say is I wish I spoke to him more or that he was more friendly. He's nice. He was on time for rounds in the hospital . He did a beautiful surgery and gallbladder removal. All is well.

congrats. how long far out was your surgery date after approval? Ive been approved and currently waiting for him to sign off my packet so i can schedule

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
