Day 6 after sleeve - am I OK?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So I've had my surgery last Tuesday, when I was around 128 (194cm height, 33 year old male).

I was discharged on Friday and spent the weekend at home, resting (binging on Netflix's OITNB :) )

All I've "eaten" was of course the nutridrink, cup-a-Soups (without the bits) and low fat clear yogurts, following my post-op diet

to the letter (as well as taking meds and vitamins), as it was given by the doc. I've been losing a kilo a day since (today I weighed in at 123).

But today I've felt light-headed, dizzy and generally beat. Yesterday I tried walking but was bushed after 10 minutes, has to stop over at a

coffee shop and rest for an hour. Also, there's been some pain in my stomach and I was wondering: could I be

starving? I know it sounds crazy but... I've been eating at least 4-5 mini-meals as suggested, but when I went to bad my stomach had these cramps or whatever? I'm not sure, as all these sensations are new and I don't yet know what to make of them and whether any are red flags.

Have my GP appointment tomorrow morning and my new nutritionist appointment on Tuesday, but was just hoping you good people could

tell me I was crazy and that it's completely fine to feel bushed not even a week after surgery. Are you seeing anything abnormal in my story?

I know it might seem idiotic, but I'm all alone here and kinda freaking out. Thanks, everybody.

I posted the same thing earlier today I am four days out and I don't think I am eating enough. I think these are hunger pains. When ever I drank my Protein Shake the pains went away.

I know very little as I'm just beginning the pre-op

Journey but you could be dehydrated. It can cause all those symptoms you mentioned. Glad ur seeing ur dr tomorrow. Let us know what he says.

I'm a week out tomorrow. I went to the store today and was absolutely exhausted after. My dr says its normal to be super tired. I also think it's cause we are running on so few calories. I've had other surgeries before and even a week out, you still get tired just from the anesthesia and surgery alone. And yes, I feel hungry! But just trying to continuously eat (or drink really). Mostly things full of Protein. Good luck!

Give yourself a break, you just had major surgery. Yes you are going to be tired for a while. You are still healing for a month or longer. Just try to do a bit more each day and improve. Get your fluids in, dehydration will make you tired. Also if you are sleeved, the part of your stomach that caused hunger is gone. If you are not already ask about if you should take an antacid for a bit. Stomach acid makes you think you are hungry...the hunger is in your head. Follow your plan and eat by the clock, not when you think you are hungry.

Go at your own pace, if you can't fit it all in its okay. I wan given medicine to help with the nausea but know that all this is normal. Also, I noticed trying to drink to fast made me nauseated. Go slow, slow down and just do what you can. So far so good we don't all meet our goals to a "T" just do what you can the best you can the nausea will go away the pain will slowly go away each day you will get better with new challenges.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
