TLW 163 Posted June 16, 2015 @@RNYGal This stall is driving me crazy. I have even tried to switch up my eating and exercise, but nothing seems to work. Guess my body just needs some time to adjust. I know it will pass, but this does not do much for moral.
RNYGal 47 Posted June 16, 2015 @@TLW I feel the same way. This stall is driving me NUTS! I also think my body just needs time to adjust but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
noura4 6 Posted June 16, 2015 I feel your pain. Today makes 6 weeks post op For me and this is my 2nd stall. I started exercising over the weekend and I walk. The scale is not moving! I also don't feel full when I eat. I'm mostly on soft foods. I did eat fish a couple of times and that made me full but I had 2 oz of chicken the other day and I could have kept eating. Depressing! Spiceyfrog 269 Posted June 17, 2015 The NUT in the hospital told me the Protein requirement was based on height. I am 5'3" and by the end on the first month they would be like consuming 50 grams, then up to 70 for long term.
TLW 163 Posted June 17, 2015 @@Venezia22 I Have pureed chicken, turkey, roast beef, baked Beans. My favorite food at this time is Atkins recipe for spinach quiche. I make it with egg whites, takes 30 minutes and it taste awesome. The other thing that seems to settle is shrimp, which I don't have to puree. I still don't have a big appetite, lucky if I get 6 oz of food in a day, so I make sure my I get my Protein by mixing 1 scoop of Isopure whey Protein with a glass of Fairlife milk twice a day. I like you have very little energy. I get my 2-5 mile walk a day and am done.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted June 19, 2015 @@KQ46, 3 weeks seems to really early to be trying some of the things that you are but every doctor is different. Don't give up on those items that have not worked for you, wait a couple of weeks and try again. I found that there were so many foods in the beginning that could not tolerate and my nut kept me waiting a week or two and trying again. There are two things that I don't tolerate 8 months post op. 1. eggs in any form make me sick 2. BBQ Sauce puts me on the verge of dumping every time I try it whether or not it has sugar in it I used to love eggs and can eat then in a French toast or as part of a recipe but I cannot seem to eat them by themselves. We think it was because I puréed them during that stage and the smell and taste pit me over the edge. We are calling it an aversion to eggs.
KQ46 1 Posted June 19, 2015 I am to getting sick of eggs. I made 5 lil shrimp yesterday. Sautéed in olive oil. That was about all I could eat. Pouch did not get mad.
