i can't get over how much several of you have lost so soon after surgery. Was there a particular day where you suddenly started seeing the change? I'm on day 5 and still have a little gain from the surgery Fluid (started 10 up and lost most of it but I'm still above my starting weight.) When did you see the scale shift and these huge losses show up? 20 -- 23 lbs down in 9 days is mind boggling!

Would be a lot of fun to wake up 4 days from now and discover that I lost another size :D

I'm with healthyjudy, would you all mind telling us how much you weighed the day of surgery? I ask that because I would like to know if anyone started where I am at 235-ish.. 5 ft 6". I don't want to be super disappointed if my results aren't like this in 9 days. I get we all lose at different rates, but I would like to have something to compare to.

I haven't noticed the physical changes that he has...wish I did. However, I have a very accurate scale. Day of surgery, I weighed 288,(5'7) yesterday I was 268. I never gained Water weight. I typically lost a pound to 2/day. I am now up to 2 Protein Shakes a day(60g protein) 4 oz at a time...and flavored water, lemonade, diet juice or broth. Can't stomach straight water yet, but I wish I could...tired of sweet flavors.

I know what you mean, I've lost 25 in the 3 weeks since, and more than the visual even, I'm just excited about the way my body moves so much easier! Although I will admit, being able to put on jeans for the first time in years was super cool! (lol)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
