Hey I was wondering do you guys want to start a Facebook group?

I think a private Facebook group would be great! I'm interested, if anyone else is. Though not sure I'm techy enough to set one up...

I am terrified that my tastes will change and I won't like the shakes I like now. I think though I will be okay, mainly because I have given up real sugar a long time ago, and I am very used to the tastes.

I often forget to eat, so Protein shakes are the perfect fill in for me. Also, not really a morning person so they are perfect Breakfast.< /p>

I must be the onky weirdo tgat loves Protein Shakes and drinks them all the time. They are great for hair growth.

When I wake up in the morning, i start my pre-op. It is only 10 days and i can do 10 days standing on my head. I am worried about the lower energy at first since i have so many errands to run pre-op. I also have hair, nails, a pedicure I need to fit in over the next 10 days.

Nope, not weird!! I love drinking Protein shakes too. I drink them for breakfast even if I'm not currently "dieting" - I like the taste and they are fast. I'm a "do I sleep 10 more minutes or make a breakfast?" kind of person. :-)

I nervous about my tastes changing after surgery. Some people have said they drank them pre-op, but couldn't stand the taste post op!

At this point I don't want all my friends on Facebook to know about my surgery. I just noticed that the July sleevers group appears on my page as one of my groups, even though I know our posts will be hidden. Is there a way to hide this? Otherwise I would rather just keep posting on here.

I'm also in Orlando. July 17 and terrified :(

Oh wow, are you with Dr. Jawad as well, or did you go with Florida Hospital?

I'm actually a selfpay and will be going to Mexico. I've wanted this surgery for years and when I finally got a job with good insurance, I was told it isn't covered by my policy, even if medically necessary.

I also left the group, at least until we get an answer about hiding it. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow!

I created an alias Facebook page so that I could join a sleever FB group without the fear of anyone else finding out. I first created a new hotmail account, then a FB account. It took me less than ten minutes. I would recommend doing it that way so that it's more private! I have only told my husband, his parents, my parents, and my best friend. I want to keep it that way too ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
