nrg33 27 Posted June 14, 2015 I have officially found the most amazing most healthy dessert ever!! Slice and freeze bananas then put them in the blender for single ingredient ice cream! And you can add stuff like strawberries or Peanut Butter or cinnamon! It is so amazing!
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 14, 2015 I have a YoNana machine that "creams" a banana along with any other frozen fruit. It's fabulous.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted June 14, 2015 I will admit, at first that sounded gross, however when I thought about it more, it sounds awesome. I love sweets and most of the good kind make me sick, so a fruit ice cream sounds super. Thanks for the tip!
nrg33 27 Posted June 14, 2015 You're welcome!! It is so amazing especially with a little natural peanut butter! Protein protein protein! ????
lclemur 161 Posted June 17, 2015 Sounds good, but remember, bananas are binding. So, if you are suffering with any Constipation issues, stay away from bananas. If you aren't, I am jealous!
nrg33 27 Posted June 18, 2015 Thanks for the tip! Luckily I have never had that problem pre and post op! Lol
honeybunz 139 Posted June 18, 2015 Going to try this! Thanks!
Sara51692 162 Posted June 19, 2015 Add PB2 powder. Peanut Butter and banana is pretty much the most amazing combination ever. I'm on pureed and my NUT allows this. It's a great quick Breakfast to make!
MzB 297 Posted June 19, 2015 I found something on Pintrest I am going to try that is similar - Frozen strawberries, Greek yogurt and a little honey. However, I may try the frozen bananas as well. Thanks for the tip.
chopsitter 30 Posted June 19, 2015 Bananas aren't too carby?
nrg33 27 Posted June 19, 2015 I don't think so. I was told I can have them in limited amount
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 20, 2015 They are way too carby but I can only eat a few bites and it's much better than real ice cream!
Sara51692 162 Posted June 20, 2015 My NUT OKed any purees fruit during pureed phase. She only wanted the pre-op diet without fruit because it was to shrink the liver and the fruit has a lot of sugar.
WorkinOnMe 596 Posted August 17, 2015 This is my new favorite summertime treat!! I did 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup almond milk, and ice to thicken it. I am 3 mos. post-op and my NUT okay'd it, as long as it is not every day. I added frozen peaches once & strawberries another time. Going to have to try the PB2 like someone suggested as PB & banana is a favorite of mine!
