judyoz 240 Posted June 13, 2015 I had to have a cat scan on my kidneys pre-op because they were afraid I had certain type of Hypertension. Did not have it, but they found a tumor on my kidney. It is in the early stage right now. It will be removed June 22. Bariatric surgery quite literaly saved my life in more ways than one. Anyone else have an experience with pre-op testing? wascott 395 Posted June 13, 2015 Glad they caught it early. Good luck with the surgery and recovery!
MeAndTinyTina 241 Posted June 13, 2015 @@judyoz Sorry and happy for you at the same time! A friend of mine found some kind of lung problem during her pre-op testing too. For her, since it was not a cancer situation, she got her sleeve first and in a few months will have a surgical procedure to fix the other problem. Are you still moving ahead with WLS and if yes, when?
judyoz 240 Posted June 13, 2015 I forgot to add, I did get sleeved first since it was caught so early. Kidney Doctor wanted my thinner for operation. They have to give me a larger incision. I will be in the hospital for about 7 days.
keddykat75 57 Posted June 13, 2015 That was lucky, 10 years ago my husbands kidney cancer was diagnosed when somehow he got giardia. No clue how he got the parasite, but it saved his life.
