gomezk2 24 Posted June 12, 2015 Just wanted to know what are the reasons besides gum getting stuck as to why it is prohibited to chew gum after getting the sleeve. I have read some articles and they talk about chewing gum creating air bubbles and stretching the pouch.
wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted June 13, 2015 I think the fear of swallowing it is enough for me to stay away from gum. Gum isn't really a deal breaker for me.

cjnorris 103 Posted June 13, 2015 I was asked not to chew it for the first 6 weeks. Two reasons..accidentally swallowing it (digestion problems) and bringing air into your stomach (pain). After 6 weeks dr asked to be mindful while chewing it. Enjoy it and spit it out. Chewing gum was not a deal breaker for me either but sometimes it just helps freshen my breath and mouth.
