mnmlst 249 Posted June 12, 2015 So, I am ONE POUND AWAY from meeting my goal weight. I cannot even believe it! I set this one originally because it was the lowest maintainable weight of my adult life (I lost down to this weight in my mid-20s and held it there for about 4 years). And it's a good weight for me. At 5'5" I'm about a size 10. I feel good about my weight and how I look, but I'm only 7 months out. If I could get into the 150s, that would be amazing. For people who met their initial goal weight, did you make a new, lower goal weight after?
AvaFern 3,516 Posted June 12, 2015 I hit my goal of 129 in April and I modified my personal goal to 119. I've pretty much stayed the exact same weight of 126 for weeks now so I'm not exactly making great progress toward 119. I feel like I do better at maintaining when I am at least partially oriented toward loss, so the lower goal weight helps me stay focused.
Kindle 8,667 Posted June 12, 2015 I am 5'5" and had several milestone weights along the way. As I was losing, I was thrilled at 170 and would have been happy at that point. My doctor's goal was 160...passed that easily. I remember being fit and healthy in my 20's at around 150....passed that, too. I finally landed in the high-130's and more or less stopped losing. I gave myself a 5 pound bounce range from there and have stayed within it for over 9 months. I actually started eating at "maintenance" levels back at 160 pounds, but my body found its new normal on its own. In the end, the numbers didn't really mean that much. It's not like this game ever ends, reaching whatever goal you end up with is really just the beginning. Good luck. Just keep up the healthy habits you have made and enjoy the ride.
