Special food treats?

Recommended Posts

Ok so before I got banded I loved getting Chinese food (deep fried shrimps mmmm), pizza, burgers or something like that on Friday evenings.

But today that is not allowed and I'm ok with that, but I still want something really good for friday evenings. But something that does not include Pasta, bread or deep fried food.

What do you guys do if you want to treat yourself with food?

Just something that makes your mouth Water and you can't wait to eat. .

I think that tonight I'm going to make a lettuce burger.http://foodimakemysoldier.com/lettuce-wrapped-cheeseburgers/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+blogspot/UxlzH+(Food+I+Make+My+Soldier)

I think it looks really good. I'm just going to have my own ingredients and try to have it healthy

For me, a treat is dessert when I eat out. I always eat smart when I go out to dinner. Lean Protein, veggies, and a little bit of carbs. No fried, no heavy sauces, no 'extras' that load on the calories/salt. By doing this, I get to enjoy eating at a restaurant without messing up my meal plan. So, I allow myself a few fork or spoonfuls of some yummy dessert with my coffee. That's my treat without doing damage. If you like Chinese, there are healthier options than fried shrimp. If you want pizza, have one slice with a side salad. Or a burger without the bun. This way you enjoy a treat and don't sabotage your progress.

Strangely enough, going out for fresh fish is a real treat for me! Sheesh! Never thought I would really say that.

This week I made twice baked potatoes . I can have the broccoli and potato mixed up w/ some cheese and leave the skin ( too clogging for my band)

I'm with Liz on the couple of bites of something yummy if I'm out.

food just can't command my attention like it used to. Thankfully!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
