I've had the best doctor and his team of nurses. I was wanting to get them something but I'm not sure what to do. I'd say buy them lunch, take them muffins or something like that but I'm pretty sure they're all bariatric patients themselves. What do you suggest?

I'm the office manager for a pain management doctors office. Trust me, we get more than our fair share of muffins, donuts, candy, etc. We started letting it be known that we were all trying to eat healthier, and now we get trays and baskets of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as meat and cheeses. It is VERY much appreciated!

heck go on ebay and have a plaque mad up declaring themthe best Bariatric staff, or some such. Quite cheap, but it makes an impact and they can show it off.

Brag about them online, write a yelp/Google review. Good docs deserve good business

My bariatric surgeon was a total tool, so he and his staff got nothing, however my plastic surgeon is wonderful and I am a huge fan of him and his staff. I sent them a gift basket from Edible Arrangements. It had plenty of regular fruit for those being healthy but I also included some of the chocolate covered stuff for those who were not dieting. His entire office staff is women, so I figured either they'd love the chocolate or they'd love the healthy option of fruit, lol.

Also, I like the other person's idea to post yelp reviews...that's good to do too.

food is useful but cards are nice. Letters to their bosses with details are good. Snoop. I sure did, I asked who is in charge and who would be in a position of power to know what myself (and others) thought of people. I went so far as to a few of them asking who can give these people raises. Believe it or not, in EVERY circumstance they told me and told me what would help at raise time. That's what they got.

I rank/rate doctors and the like in the office. You can have good docs/bad staff, bad docs/good staff, good/good, bad/bad. Give specifics on the ratings. If I see some specifics, its going to help people best decide: is this an atmosphere I can deal with? That's what people really need to know.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
